 | Albert Erftenbeck (percussions, drums) discovered the drums at the age of 14. Attracted to the sound of an acoustic drumset in a youth club, he decided to give it a try himself. From then on he went there twice a week to teach himself. Two years later he began to play the drums in bands performing Blues and Rock music.
His role models in music were “Barrimore Barlowe” (Jethro Tull) as well as “Keith Moon” (The Who). Both played the drums in a melodic way, following the melody of the song. This is actually an important feature of playing Jazz drums and percussions. That is how the way for his love for Jazz music and percussions was paved.
When in his twenties his interest for percussions grew strong he bought a djembe (african drum). Later he took lessons to play latin percussions. Recently he discovered the “cajon”,which is very popular with street musicians and which more and more conquers the music scene. |
